Solar System Bone China Mug

McLaggan Smith is a family owned company in Scotland specializing in high quality bone china mugs screen printed with unique artwork and designs.  You won't find mugs quite like this from anyone else!  Bone china is hard, bright white, with a smooth feel, and somehow makes your tea or coffee just magically taste better.  They offer a huge variety of unique illustrations in beautiful, educational, whimsical, and/or humorous themes.

This fine bone china mug features a colorful and detailed guide to our planets and solar system.  Artwork by Picturmaps.  Great gift for an exostellaphile (aka outer space enthusiast)!

Measures 99 mm tall (just under 4 inches), 85 mm wide (3.35 inches).  350 ml capacity (approx 11.8 ounces).

Made of fine bone china.  Designed and made in the UK.

   Washing Instructions

To maintain the quality of your mug, we recommend hand washing it as soon as possible after use.  To protect the screen printed design, avoid the high temps and abrasive detergents of the dishwasher.  Use warm (not boiling) water, simple dish soap, and a dishcloth or sponge (not a scouring pad).

Stain Removal

Since bone china is brilliantly white, it can pick up coffee/tea stains after frequent use.  To help keep your mug bright, wash quickly after use.  If you do get staining, try soaking in a mild detergent for an hour.  You can also try rubbing gently with a baking soda paste or vinegar/water mixture.

Can I use boiling water?

When bone china experiences sudden extreme changes in temperature, it can crack or break.  To avoid this, avoid pouring boiling water directly into your mug.  Or, prepare the mug by first filling with warm tap water to heat the cup, pour most of it out, then make your tea.  Similarly, don't put it in the freezer.  Basically, don't do anything to your bone china mug that your grandma wouldn't do with her bone china teacups!

Can I use in the microwave?

Yes, these mugs are microwave safe.
