To celebrate 25 years of Christmas concerts, Bronn is re-issuing a CD he recorded 20 years ago, “Journey to Bethlehem.” This has been one of Bronn’s favorite albums, but when it was recorded, 35 minutes of music was all the record company that Bronn recorded for budget allowed! Bronn has control of the original master now. He has improved the original by adding 20 minutes of solo harp selections. The recording has been digitally remixed and remastered from the original master tapes to bring it up to current audio standards.
This album features all live instruments - every violin, viola, cello and bass were members of the Seattle Symphony at the time, and they are all accomplished musicians. The warmth and sensitivity of the accompanying strings bring out all the resonant beauty of the harp in these traditional Christmas favorites. From the introduction of “Joy to the World” to the conclusion of “See Amid the Winter’s Snow,” this CD will take you on a musical journey to Bethlehem, where Christ was born on that most holy of nights.
